Off Duty: Thanksgiving

Wednesday, November 28, 2012
Spending the holidays at home with friends and family made me want to dress up in something cozy and wintery, so I combined a fur vest with a wool sweaterdress.

Off Duty: Home for the Holidays

Tuesday, November 27, 2012
I love the excitement of heading home for Thanksgiving weekend! I'm always looking forward to spending time with my family, eating my mom's stuffing, and hitting up the Wednesday night pseudo high school reunion. Here, the hubs snapped a pic of my no-frills comfy look for our car ride home.

The Perfect Cardigan

Thursday, September 27, 2012
My ultimate work staple is my J.Crew Jackie cardigan. It's the perfect length, perfect shape, and comes in a perfect palette of colors. Plus, they hold up really well through a lot of washes. I'm slowly replacing all my junky old sweaters with Jackies.

Right now, J. Crew is offering 25% off (a rarity!) I think it's time to restock the closet!

Your New Work Bag and Shoes...

The Michael Kors Hamilton Artisan tote- classic shape, burnt leather aged detailing, and elegant hardware make this a timeless choice, and the large size makes it functional too.

Michael Kors' Pressley pump has long been my favorite work shoe, and I love the two-tone capped look for fall.

Banana Accessories

Thursday, September 6, 2012
I'm loving some of the new accessories Banana Republic has introduced for fall...seems like they're adopting a vaguely J. Crew-ish aesthetic at a lower price point, something I can definitely get behind! Below, some of my favorite pieces:

Goodbye Summer

Friday, August 31, 2012
Some people call the rules archaic, but I stick to them- no white after Labor Day! So in honor of my last work day of the unofficial summer, I busted out my white skirt for the last time, and paired it with navy and mustard for a vague nautical vibe.

About Me

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

I’m Tracy, creator and editor of Workweek Chic. I am a budget analyst in New York City, and getting dressed for work makes my dull desk job a little more exciting.  I started this blog to share my outfits and tips for developing a well-edited and budget-friendly work wardrobe.
My Style

My style is classic, professional, and above all, feminine. It’s rare that you’ll see me in a suit or pants, and flats only come out for commuting. You should know:
·         I work in a business casual environment that tends towards informal, and my outfits reflect that.
·         I repeat clothes A LOT. Since this blog is about realistic work fashion, you will see items more than once, but worn different ways.
·         When shopping, I look for classic silhouettes and decent quality items that will last awhile. I’m not opposed to spending a little extra on something I’ll wear a lot.

My Life
I’m married to the sweetest guy on the planet, who I’ll call Mr. B, and we’re currently residing in our beloved state of New Jersey. We’re living a city lifestyle now, but I dream of the day we will have a house in the suburbs and head to church on Sundays.

I live in pearls, subsist on cheese and beer, and spend my time reading books, and throwing parties for my family and friends.

Thanks for reading my blog!  Please feel free to share your thoughts and suggestions by commenting or emailing me at tracyworkweekchic@gmail.com  I’d love to hear from you.
